An entertaining
deal from the Swiss Teams at Deva featuring a double endplay (not a
slam hand this time).
Nicely
played by John Currie to gain 1 IMP.North South quickly reached game in spades with West having bid hearts and East diamonds. West led the diamond queen, declarer won with the ace and drew three rounds of trumps ending in dummy. Declarer now led a diamond from table and East ducked, so the ten won. Now three rounds of hearts left West on play. She had to return a club (or concede a ruff and discard). Declarer won club in hand and exited with a diamond to endplay East to lead a club or concede a ruff and discard. Thanks to John Currie for reporting this deal |
