This deal is from a Manchester League match last month.

You reach three notrump on the above auction, where three clubs is some form of checkback.

West leads the spade three.
How do you play?

Solution

If you play low from dummy East will win and play a club back.  You rise with the ace and play the ace and king of diamonds.  Only if East has three or four diamonds are you in danger.  In that case West will need to have the king of clubs with sufficient length for the defence to take three club tricks.

If you try the queen of spades at trick one you are in danger of going off if East continues spades and you don't guess the diamonds.
