The trials for the Senior home internationals were held at Manchester Bridge Club in late January.
On this early deal Sally Brock was on lead and chose the club king.

Patrick Shields' clever bluff bid sitting North only cost EW an overtrick as Richard Chamberlain had the heart king, but the layout might have been different.
And if Patrick had jumped to seven spades instead of bidding six hearts what would Sally have led?
