slam from the Tollemache qualifying.
Alan
Mould opened one club with the North hand, as this
could be as few as two clubs Rodney Lighton as South
responded one notrump.
Three
spades by Alan was an auto splinter, showing good
clubs and short spades. Rodney decided that
with his good trump support he was worth a cue bid
of four hearts, Alan checked for key cards and bid
the slam.
There
was nothing to the play, only one other pair bid
this slam.
