Another slam deal from the Higson Cup final.

Here after North opened one club, which could be a short suit, East found an effective preempt of four spades.  The St Titus South now had a difficult choice.  With North likely to be short in spades his clubs were probably a genuine suit, but how good were they?  South decided to rely on his excellent heart suit and guessed to bid slam.  On a spade lead he was able to ruff a spade in dummy, take the heart finesse, play a club to hand and then draw trumps, losing only to the trump king.  In the other room North and South finished in five clubs, so a useful 13 imp swing to St Titus.
