ace in dummy partner playing the six and
declarer the five. Declarer now played
a heart to the king and your ace partner
following with the two. What do you
play now?

You
have a difficult guess at this point.
Declarer may have the club king and be about
to discard any spade loser on the clubs or
he may have a void spade in which case
trying to cash a spade trick could be fatal.
Tom
Slater decided that declarer was more likely
to be 1633 or 1642 with the diamond ace and
club king and tried to cash the spade ace.
Raymond
Semp as declarer trumped that and was able
to take a ruffing finesse in spades to
dispose of all of his diamond losers on the
clubs and spades for a near top.
