A
deal from the Higson Plate final.
Justin
Hackett held the South hand. After forcing to
game and showing both his suits his partner, Paul
Hackett, raised clubs. Justin now gambled to
bid the grand slam, hoping that either West didn't
have the heart ace or had a choice of red suits to
lead with either both or neither red ace and would
guess wrong..
Unlucky,
not only did West have the heart ace and not the
diamond ace, but he even had the temerity to double!
