Another
deal from the Manchester league.
A
long and complicated auction ended in a good six
hearts by North on the queen of spades lead.
Declarer
won in hand and played a club to the ace and ruffed
a club. Now two rounds of hearts ending in
dummy revealed the 4-1 break.
Unable
to succeed by a dummy reversal declarer played a
third round of hearts. East can afford a spade
discard on this trick, but after a diamond to hand
and a fourth heart East is triple squeezed (without
the count).
In
the other room declarer attempted to reverse the
dummy, but failed to check that trumps were
breaking, the 4-1 break defeated him.
