Partner
has six or seven points, so should have an entry
somewhere. You also know from the Stayman
response that partner has at least two hearts.
So
switch to a low heart, declarer wins in dummy and
plays a club which partner wins with the ace.
Now another heart gives you four heart tricks a
spade and a club for one off.
See
below for the full deal. Note that declarer
could have made by winning the first trick.
In
the other room West overcalled two spades and North
played three notrump.
The
lead of the queen of spades gave declarer an extra
spade trick. When North made the contract that
was 12 imps to Manchester.
