at Ashton Bridge Club.
The course of 30 lessons will start at 10 am on

Autumn 2024. Sessions are for Absolute Beginners, further
Progression courses, as well as Practising Topic based
pre-dealt hands. There are Deal, Ask & Play sessions
and new short courses on Signals, Doubles, Bidding Big
Hands and Conventions. Private Lessons are available. She
teaches from home and currently has students from
Wilmslow, Mobberley, Alderley Edge, Macclesfield, Cheadle,

offers lessons for beginners, including those who have
never played cards before. It covers the whole of the
basic Acol system and is based on the ebu teaching manual
"Beginning Bridge - Book One"Lessons are held on a F2F
basis at the Brookdale Club in Bramhall Green in
Stockport. Each week the usual format will be instruction
with the aid of a projector and screen for the first hour
and supervised play to practise what has been taught for
the second hour. Notes are provided after each lesson. The course
starts in October and lasts approximately seven months,
after which the attendees transfer to a weekly supervised
Beginners Duplicate session at the Brookdale Club. The
lessons take place on Monday afternoons and the charge for
the course is £3 per week.
The lessons are part of the Bridge Section of the
Brookdale Club. The Section currently has over 200 members
and runs duplicate sessions on four days of the week,
including supervised sessions for beginners and improvers.

is a very experienced teacher and offers both face-to-face
lessons and online lessons via zoom.
The Face to Face lessons are taking place at both
Bury and Bolton Bridge Clubs - although he'd be happy to
teach at other club too.
John's beginner's course lasts 25 weeks.
The cost varies depending on how many people
there are in the class but ranges from £8 - £10 per
lesson. John
teaches at Bury Bridge Club on a Monday evening at 7.15 pm
and on a Wednesday morning at 10.30 am. These lessons cost
£8 pp. John
also teaches at Bolton BC on Wednesday evening.
John will also be doing seminars on specific
topics which will be aimed at intermediate / advanced
players. |

Jim is
based at Warrington Bridge Club.
Jim/Malcolm provide lessons for Warrington Bridge
Club and Warrington U3A, the two organisations working
together to provide 3 levels of Bridge teaching, all on
Thursday mornings. There's
a beginners class and an improvers class, both as part of
U3A, in Penketh (contact Malcolm Roberts), and a more
advanced class at Warrington Bridge Club, Alford Hall
(contact Jim Steele).
Three new classes will start in September 2022, and
run weekly on Thursday mornings through to June 2023. The
Beginners and Improvers are held in Penketh, run by
Warrington u3a. They are free, once the person has joined
Warrington u3a and paid the annual u3a subscription of
£30. The next level is an Intermediate class, held at
Warrington Bridge Club. Lessons comprise a formal input,
followed by play of set hands. Cost per session is £3, and
includes course notes and complimentary
tea/coffee/biscuits. Advanced classes are also provided,
