Deal of the WeekLeague update May 1stIn the face to face league St Titus (Michael Byrne) lead in division 1 and need 1 VP in their final match to win the league. In division 2 Petersfield are top with 4 wins. In the online league division 1 Inverted Minors (David Barton) have won with six wins, ahead of The North Star (Michael Hart). In division 2 Howard Rosemarine's Help have won just ahead of City Aces. In division 3 congratulations to Trafford Tigers who have won by a large margin. In the Newcomers league The Irregulars lead in the A division and Winns have won the B division. Follow the links under league for more detail. Higson Finals - CorrectedThe Higson Cup and Plate finals were held on Sunday 26th April at Altrincham. Both finals were all play all handicap events. In the Cup Deal or No Deal (David Stevenson, Liz Commins, Martin Taylor and Paddy Murphy) won ahead of Inverted Minors (Rhona Goldenfield, Kath Nelson, Irving & Joy Blakey, David Barton and Leslie Klein) in a field of six teams. In the Plate Help! (Howard Rosemarine, Adrian Shiers, Jeffrey Bor and Jonathan Berg) won by a good margin ahead of Petersfield (Eddie Thornton-Chan, Tessa Conolly, Fly Leung and Ray Ashleigh) in a field of seven teams. The PotY scores have been updated, Michael Byrne is still leading the expert category. In the non-expert category Ray Ashleigh has taken a narrow lead. Goldstone FinalThe final of the Goldstone was held on Thursday 23rd April in the afternoon at Manchester Bridge Club. Inverted Minors (David Barton, Rhona Goldenfield, Joy & Irving Blakey, Kath Nelson) played St Titus (Michael Byrne, Gary Hyett, John Holland, Alan Mould, Rodney Lighton). St Titus were 62 imps up after 24 boards at which point Inverted Minors conceded. ![]()
